               تحاول هذه الورقة إلقاء الضوء على أهمية ودور المدارس الأهلية في بث ونشر الثقافة العربية والإسلامية في نيجيريا عامة وفي مدينة إلورن خاصة. فإن تاريخ التعليم والتعلّم اللغة العربية والإسلامية في إلورن ترجع إلى بداية الإسلام فيها. تحاول هذه الورقة إلقاء الضوء على دور معهد الشيخ الإمام صالح العربي الإسلامي أَيبَيْجِلا، إلورن، نيجيريا في بث الثقافة العربية والإسلامية. وتركز القول حول النبذة اليسيرة عن مؤسس ومدير المعهد (الشيخ الإمام محمد البشير صالح الفلاني) تأسيس المعهد، أهداف، المراحل الدراسية، الأنشطة، فروع المعهد في ولاية كَوغِي وإنجازاته منذ تأسيسه.

Abstract

Private-owned schools of Arabic and Islamic Studies play a significant role in the development and spread of Arabic and Islamic Education in Nigeria in general and in Ilorin in particular. The teaching and learning of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Ilorin dates back to the inception of Islam in the city. This study examines the contribution of Mahad Ash-Shaykh Al-Imam Salih Arabic and Islamic College, Egbejila, Ilorin, Nigeria, to the development of Arabic and Islamic Education in Ilorin. The paper discusses the biography of the college proprietor (Imam Muhammad Bashir ٍ Salih Al-fulani), establishment of the college, aims, sections, activities, branches of the colleges in Kogi state and its achievements since the inception.
